The first condition, and the most important, to stay in our apartments is: Please do not smoke in the apartments
In order to reserve my apartment, you need to request for a stay, via ‘Reservations’ on the top navigation.
You may pay directly on the website either by credit card or Paypal and a confirmation will be sent to you by email. When you book, you automatically accept all our terms and condition below.
Please check the apartments pages for costs and availability. The tariffs are inclusive of all expenses such as gas, electricity, telephone, cleaning.
Tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is also included in the price.
Minimum stay is 3 days. Stays of two days are possible if there happens to be a gap of 2-3 nights between bookings, and this is usually through our last minute page.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
We do not accept cheques. You can pay by credit card or Paypal.
If the booking is made 50 days before arrival the whole of the rental payment is payable. If the booking is made prior to 50 days of the letting a rental deposit of 25% of the rental sum is requested. The remaining balance of the rental sum is then due 50 days prior to the letting.
A security deposit of €250 is preauthorised from your credit card upon payment. This payment is only pre-paid and will not be not taken from the guest’s credit card unless there are damages or breakages found after check out. However if you decide to pay by paypal the €250 amount is actually requested together with full payment. This is because there is not possible way to withhold this amount on paypal. If the second option (paypal), the €250 are refunded within 48 hours after you leave, if the property is left in the same state as on arrival.
The customer accepts responsibility for deterioration risks via this security deposit. You will be liable for any damages caused during the rental period and discovered during check-out (Eg: chocolate or wine stains on the white sofa). Minor accidents such as a broken glass or similar will of course not be taken into account, but I appreciate you reporting all incidents. If the ‘non-smoking’ policy is not strictly adhered to, it will lead to a deduction of €150 from the deposit. This is because I consider it unfair to those guests who do not smoke, so I am strict with this policy. I advise that, if you are a smoker, you look elsewhere for an apartment with a smoking relaxed policy please.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Arrival time is from 14.00 onwards, although it may be possible to come and drop suitcases while the cleaning person is doing the apartment. Two full hours for cleaning is needed between check-out and check-in. Please ask for an early check-in if you require one so that I can inform the cleaning person. Also if there is a guest leaving early that same morning, early check in may be possible. So it’s always best to check with me.
You will receive instructions on how to gain access to the apartments once you have paid in full for your stay. Departure is at 11.00 at the latest. This is to allow time for the cleaning person to go in and leave the apartment ready for the next guest. Please let me know your arrival and departure time as soon as you can.
Unfortunately, as you will be booking a private apartment, I do not have a concierge area to keep your suitcase after 11AM. I suggest to drop them in the locker in ‘Gare de Montparnasse’ (train station) which is only 10-15 mins walking from the apartment.
‘My Paris Apartments’ is under full legal home insurance, however this insurance policy is not a replacement for your own multi-risk insurance policy in case of accident, loss, robbery or other. To protect yourself, please take out a travel insurance policy while abroad. It is also advised to request your social security international card in your health center if you are from the EU.
The apartments will be thoroughly clean before you arrive. We will expect to find them reasonably tidy when you depart, otherwise the cleaning person will need to spend longer tidying up and cleaning and we will to deduct this from your deposit. The apartments are strictly non-smoking. Pets are allowed only if they are small animals, and you will need to check this with me. Cleaning is done once a week but if you wish additional cleaning during the week, I can arrange that for you for an additional charge. Please note that I do not expect you to clean the apartment when you leave, but you have to clean your own dishes and cutlery, and dispose of your own rubbish.
Most Parisian apartments are very old ( minimum 100 years old), so althouh you may not feel it, any minimal hit on the floor sounds unpleasant to those below.
In order to conserve the harmony of the building, you will be expected to avoid parties at the apartment, take your shoes off to avoid making noise on the ‘parquet’, avoid dragging suitcases, table or chairs around the apartment, and generally speaking keep it quiet after 23.00, particularly during week days.
If a cancellation is requested more than 50 days in advance of the letting, we will return the balance of any monies paid, less the rental deposit (25%). If we manage to re-book the same slot we will then return your 25% deposit payment.
If the cancellation is requested within 50 days prior to the letting we will retain the 30% rental deposit, but will refund the rest, providing we are able to re-book the property for the period in question.
If the cancellation takes place two weeks or less before date of arrival, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
If you cut short or cancel your stay once you have occupied the apartment, in the event of unanticipated interruption, no refunds will be given
Apartment 1 is only a ‘sleeps 2’ apartment. Unless we make a personal exception, eg: babies or toddlers, when a travel cot will be provided. This is because we want to focus on quality and aim for our guests to have a nice and comfortable stay. Three or more adults staying on a 30 sq m2 apartment is not suitable. For groups of 2 adults + children, we recommend our one bedroom apartment (Apartment 2). The apartment manual will tell you how things work and both my telephone numbers will be there in case you need me.
We hope the above conditions all sound reasonable to you. We hate having to write them as we want our guests to enjoy their stay, feel welcome and relaxed without having to think of our conditions, but we think it’s all based on reasonable bases or acceptable behaviour while using someone else’s home.
